The IDTS project will benefit students, teachers, admissions officers
and registrars, and counselors at
all levels:
Students
Through the College Student Admission and Placement
Profile (CSAPP), a student is able to electronically present a detailed
comprehensive record of his or her high school accomplishments and
college preparation almost instantly, and immediately knows that his
or her record was accurately received.
Admissions Officers/Registrars
The Secure Student Identifier
(SSID), a component of the IDTS, provides a unique identifier for each
student and ensures greater efficiency and accuracy in processing each
student's application. The electronic record reduces data entry time
and errors and provides additional information for evaluating an application.
High School Teachers, Counselors, and Administrators
High schools
receive annual reports
about the college performance of their Oregon graduates who are in the state's
public
postsecondary institutions. Time and cost savings compared with the traditional
paper process
for transcripts will help conserve already limited resources.
OUS and Community Colleges
Provides a more comprehensive set
of student preparation information, potentially allowing more
accurate placement and advising. Simplifies transcript exchange among
post-secondary
institutions.
State of Oregon/Decision-makers
The IDTS project is a critical
piece of infrastructure needed by the joint boards of education in
pursuit of a seamless education system. It allows the development
of policy to streamline educational processes and support Oregon’s
emerging proficiency-based system as an important measure of student
preparation and success.
